Exciting Partnership Between ARJE and URJ Kutz Camp Continues!

The leadership of URJ Kutz Camp and ARJE are excited to offer a month-long Madrichim Training Initiative during the Kutz session this summer. With a program built on teaching Jewish teen’s skills in leadership, social justice, Jewish learning, music, and the arts through a lens of Reform Jewish values, Kutz Camp is the summer home of Reform Jewish teens worldwide. Each summer, 200 highly engaged teens entering grades 10-12 from across North America and around the world come to Kutz for four weeks to develop lifelong skills steeped in a meaningful Reform Jewish experience.

During the camp session, each teen chooses their own Major, or primary learning area. Majors are supplemented by session-long and week-long Minors across a broad range of creative subjects. The ARJE Madrichim Training Initiative will be taught as a session-long Minor by four outstanding ARJE educators who will also serve as part of the camp’s faculty. Throughout the course of the session, these teens will learn advanced skills in Jewish education, classroom management, working with peers with special needs, how to write lesson plans, creative ways to bring experiential education into the classroom, and unique skills to enhance their relationship working with adults. Teens will return to their congregation even more engaged, and well-prepared to add significant value to their congregation and their community.

We’re delighted about this partnership, and look forward to elevating the learning opportunities for our young people who are so committed to serving their congregations as Madrichim.
