Reflections from the Leadership Meetings
NATE’s leadership has two parts: Governance (the board) and Operations (the folks who run the teams of people who do NATE’s “day to day” work: team leaders, committee chairs, etc.). Recently, both groups got together for NATE’s annual Leadership Meetings. Here’s the scoop on what happened, from two ARJE leaders:
Thoughts from Vanessa Ehrlich, RJE, outgoing Operation Coordinator:
I have been a member of NATE for over 25 years. This week the leadership is gathering in Chicago to plan, purpose, and project for the upcoming year, 5773-5774 (2013-2014). I am constantly amazed at the creativity, dedication and time all our tireless volunteers dedicate to our professional organization.

Reflections from Debbie Niederman, RJE, First Vice President:
As I write this article, I am sitting on the floor of the O’Hare airport, exhausted but energized from the ARJE Spring Leadership Team meetings. Twice each year our Operations and Governance Leaders gather in person to collaborate on the work of our association. Some of the highlights of our meeting include: discussions of how to identify the needs, met and unmet of all members (If you have ideas
about this, please don’t hesitate to let me know!) strengthening our relationship with the URJ and other Movement organizations, and important conversations about the development of our new website and communication plans. We continue to think strategically about how to strengthen our organization by strengthening the work our leaders do. If you are interested in getting involved in the work of NATE, please to let me know and be sure to fill out your member involvement profile.
