GenZ Now: Teaching, Preaching and Programming

Presenters: Rabbi Jennifer Goldsmith
Location: Columbine

The Jewish Education Project and Rosov Consulting discovered many surprises when they surveyed close to 18,000 Jewish teens from 14 national youth-serving organizations for GenZ Now: Understanding and Connecting With Jewish Teens Today study. At this workshop participants will unpack key findings from the study and use resources and tools to help apply those findings to your teaching, preaching and programming throughout the year. This high-level conversation will help you and your colleagues deepen your understanding of the people you serve and spark new ideas for how to best create meaningful Jewish educational experiences for our teens and the Jewish community at large.

Moving From Us vs. Them to WE! - Sharing Our Story!

Presenters: Marisa Kaiser, RJE, Rabbi Ron Segal, Jack Feldman, Cathy Rolland
Location: Vail

Come hear the story of how Temple Sinai in Atlanta shifted their culture to integrate our early childhood program into the entire synagogue with the shared purpose of meeting the needs of all types of families into our community.  For many years, Temple Sinai Preschool had operated largely independently of the rest of the synagogue. After a 9 month strategic plan, we began a change process which led to new lay and professional partnerships, heightened awareness of the cultural divide between families with young children and the greater synagogue.  It also brought new emphasis on financial management and transparency, and quantified the significant investment being made by the synagogue into Jewish education. Hear about how they implemented this change to create one clear vision for lifelong learning.

Infusing Israel Throughout the Learning Experience, iCenter

Presenters: Dr. Lesley Litman, RJE & Emily Rothstein
Location: Biltmore

Israel lives within and through us, therefore learning about Israel is most effective when woven throughout a learner’s experiences. Participants will explore where Israel currently lives in their curriculum and educational settings, articulate new areas where Israel can be woven in to the learning, and define new curricular ideas that incorporate Israel into seemingly "non-Israel" subject areas.
