I'm Barry Shainker, a current ARJE Board member and chair of the ARJE Gratitude Campaign. I have been a member of ARJE since 2010 (as a student) and a volunteer in a variety of roles since 2015. Working in a non-profit, I know that the efforts of lay people are essential to ensuring the success of my work. And as we all see in the leadership of the organizations where we work, the passion, dedication, and chesed (loving kindness) of volunteers helps all of us implement our vision for the growth and excellence of Jewish education.
At its heart, ARJE’s fundraising efforts are centered on celebrating and recognizing our members. Every initiative we support is designed to uplift the people who make our community strong. Taking a moment to acknowledge one another’s contributions can make a lasting impact—not just on individuals, but on the culture we all share. I encourage you to take part in this effort in a simple but meaningful way: consider purchasing a gratitude gift for a fellow member, or reach out to a colleague’s supervisor to suggest honoring their work. A small gesture of appreciation can go a long way in ensuring that no one’s contributions go unnoticed.
Thank you for helping us build a culture of recognition and support.
